Carles Puyol

Carles Puyol i Saforcada is a Catalan player , The Spanish Defender born in 13 April 1978, In Lleidar city, Catalonia

Carles plays as Middle defender and he is one of the best defenders in history, He won the best defender in Spain history and Barcelona club

He plays in Barcelona team since he was young as goalkeeper but he injured in his shoulders

In 1995 He started playing with B-team as defensive midfielder

In 1999 He played debut as a key player against Real Valladolid but the team is defeated 0-2

Puyol play under the leadership of Luis Enrique as right back and central defender sometimes depending on the need of the club

With the passing of time, puyol earn the trust of the Camp Nou masses and became the Captain of the team after Phillip Cocu leaving He achieved many championships with the Catalan club

He achieved the triple with Barca in 2009

Puyol participated in the center of Right back and he won award in 2002 By UEFA (Best European Right back) but he settled defender because it has an enormous capacity not owned by others, As well as the ability to move forward and support the attack on the line although it is not long but he has tremendous physical strength enables it to docking, confrontation and has a strong personal leadership

He played with Spanish team, In 2000 they got the second place and silver medal in the Sydney Olympics, In 2002 he participated with the Spanish team in the World Cup which was held in Korea and Japan and scored historic goal in the German team in

the semi-final game then get the World Cup with Spanish team in 2010

Puyol played with B-team (89 Match, Scored 6 Goals), with A-team (348 Match in the league, Scored 7 Goals-41 Match in the Cup, Not Scored-115 Match in UEFA, Scored 2 Goals)

Puyol's long shaggy hair has been distinctive feature throughout his career, Barcelona manager (Van Gaal) suggested he get it cut when the player immediately after training session with the senior players ,"What's your problem, Cannot you afford the money for a haircut?" Van Gaal asked him. "He said nothing, puyol remembered," and to this day have kept my hair as is

Puyol's father Josef, died in farming accident in 2006 while puyol was on his way a match against (Deportivo de la Coruna), He was informed of the news by coach (Frank Rijkaard) but he decided to play the match

On 25 January 2014 puyol's girlfriend (Vanessa Lorenzo), give birth of their first child, a girl named (Manuela)

On 5 March 2014 puyol announced his departure from Barcelona team during press conference, The news grieved many Catalan people loving him, They expressed their grief through twitter #GraciesPuyol (Thanks puyol)

I do not have any words to say, Barcelona lost a lot when he was allowed to puyol for leave, always like puyol a hero, who can won in any battle no matter how difficult
